Musical Theatre

Today, I want to talk about Musical Theatre, a wonderful  art, to everyone.
1.Summary  2.Comparison with Opera  3.Famous places  4.Other Forms of Theatre  5.A Easy List  6.A Song of Musical
Musical theatre is a style of performance that includes dance, popular songs, spoken dialog, and lots of acting.

The Musicals performed at New York Broadway or London West End are famous.  And most of the musical theatres actors usually sing the Musicals in English or French.

The biggest difference between the Musical theatre and the Opera is that Musical theatre concentrates on acting and dancing first and then singing.  On the other hand, opera focuses on singing the most.  That is why the musical theatre performers are often handsome actors and beautiful actress that sometimes with terrible voice.  Besides, the Musical performers in large theatres often use microphones, but it is avoided in an operatic context.

There are various Eastern conventions of the theatre, for example, Chinese Opera, Taiwanese opera, Noh (classical Japanese dance theatre) and Musical theatre in India.

1.Musicals: The Black Brook, Les Misérables, Billy Elliot, The Sound of Music, The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, West Side Story, Notre Dame de Paris, The Lion King,

Beau comme le Soleil
Esmeralda:
Il est beau comme le soleil
Est-ce un prince un fils de roi
Je sens l'amour qui s'éveille
Au fond de moi
Plus fort que moi
Il est beau comme le soleil
C'est un prince, un fils de roi
De roi... je crois

Fleur-de-Lys (en aparté):
Il est beau comme le soleil
C'est un voyou, un soldat
Quand il me serre contre lui
Je voudrais fuir mais je ne puis
Il est beau comme le soleil
C'est un voyou, un soldat
Soldat... du roi

1. Definition/Features of Musical Theatre

Musical theatre is a combination of popular music, spoken converse, acting and dance.  It’s similar to opera.
