1. Definition/Features of Musical Theatre
Musical theatre is a kind of performance that includes songs, spoken conversation, acting, and dance. It’s similar to opera, but it has more dialogue and acting, and less singing skills. 
2. Comparison with Opera
Musicals have a greater focus on their plot, dancing, and the use of various genres of popular music. And it avoids operatic conventions.
An opera singer focuses on their voice first, but a musical theatre performer regularly concentrates on their appearance and acting skills.
Opera singers usually practice singing since they were children, so they have enough vital capacity to sing loudly and last long, but musical theatre performers need to use microphones.
