A brief introduction of Musical theatre ~ by Jackyy

        New York Broadway and London West End. Both of them are famous for musical theatre.

Musical theatre is a type of theatre that integrates with spoken, songs, dialogue, dance, and acting.

There are some difference of Musical theatre and opera. For example:

1. focuses on pop music style, dancing, and spoken dialogue, but some of operas have unaccompanied dialogue. 

        2. The actors in musical theatre are more important than singers and dancers, but the actors in opera are not that important like singer.   

   

         The following is some famous musical:

         1.   Cats  ( 貓 )   2. Into the Woods  ( 拜訪森林 )   3.  Les Miserable ( 悲慘世界 )

     4.  West Side Story ( 西城故事 )     5.  The Sound of Music ( 真善美 )

       

         And there are lots of other forms of theater, for example: Taiwanese opera, Chinese opera, and Sanskrit drama.
